  • Tool & Gage Technician
Works on highly complex tool and gage making projects with little to no technical instructions of supervisor or lead person. Performs the more difficult machining work on complicated details to meet exact dimensional and finish requirements, using any piece of tool room equipment. (3axis cnc mill, cnc lathe, cnc grinder, wire EDM, surface grinders). Analyze assignment and establish a process to fabricate from start to finish any gage, fixture or proto-type using any piece of tool room equipment efficiently. Analyze blueprints, sketches, models, verbal communication and project functionality to develop a process strategy that achieves the highest quality product. Investigate the difficulty and makes needed repairs and adjustments required, in a timely manner, to put fixtures back in use. Works closely with engineering department in development of models and prototypes using complicated mechanical, electronic and hydraulic control mechanisms. Ability to operate sophisticated measuring equipment to ensure that all quality specifications are met. Able to program, set-up and operate a variety of CNC machines using the following software. (pt4, Auto-Cad, PEPS, Creo, Mastercam) Strong understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems as they relate to fixtures. Education/ Experience Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A 2 year degree in machine tool technology a plus. Eight to twelve years machining experience with increasing complexity and responsibility. Working knowledge of machining / assembly techniques, machine equipment and systems and machining principles. Must be computer literate with strong organizational skills.   • QA Technician
Working from blueprints, drawings, process documents, and using a wide variety of tools, gages, jigs, and measuring equipment, audits product at various stages of the manufacturing process. Level 1: • High school diploma (or GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Six to twelve months of related experience in a manufacturing environment, blue print reading, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Level 2: Five to seven years related experience in a manufacturing environment.   • Chemical Engineer
Responsible for providing technical and engineering expertise on all chemical and environmental requirements. Provides technical and engineering expertise on storage, handling, use and disposal of all hazardous materials and wastes. Insures compliance with environmental reporting in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Principal Responsibilities: • Environmental compliance reporting to all Government agencies – City of Columbia, Richland County, State of South Carolina, & DHEC • Support the development of new processes and trouble shooting of plating issues in the Surface Finish Department • Maintain and develop laboratory procedures and work instructions pertinent to analysis of the bath chemistry. • Review supplier phosphate procedures prior to submittal to the Government • Train & certify vapor degreaser operators • Conduct chemical safety training to all Surface Finish employees on a yearly basis • Assist leading process improvement teams using Lean Manufacturing tools and methods Education/ Experience Requirements: • BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering • Five years experience in electrochemical processes and environmental engineering • Practical understanding of workplace 5S and Lean manufacturing principles. • Supervisory experience a plus • Experience in a general surface finish environment including hard chrome plating. • P.E. desirable • Environmental and NADCAP understanding • CEF – (Certified Electro Finishers) certified –AESF (American Electroplaters Society Finishing) preferred

  • Production Supervisor (Surface Finish)
Broad Function: The Production Supervisor (SF) is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the work for completion of chrome-plated and phosphate parts which meet military specifications based on FNA’s established processes and procedures. Responsible for the Safety, Quality, Productivity and Delivery performance of the Surface Treatment Department. Assist with the implementation of Lean principles and methods, measure Lean implementation based on published KPIs and sustain implemented improvements through standardization, training and continuous improvement. Principal Responsibilities: Performs those supervisory functions necessary for the effective management of the department, including the selection and development of employees. Employee counseling, motivation, planning, organizing and measuring the work performed. Establishes and maintains a safe and healthful working environment in accordance with OSHA requirements. Ensures compliance and actively coaches employees on the Five S program and implements and supports Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Ensure compliance to NADCAP requirements Prepare chrome line for NADCAP certification Education/ Experience Requirements: Knowledge of all chrome plating, phosphate and multi-finish line equipment with an understanding of plating theory required. At least three years working experience in a metal working environment. Bachelor’s degree in business or two year technical degree. Prior coating experience preferred Quality Engineering experience preferred Practical understanding of workplace 5S and Lean Manufacturing Principles. Must have experience in a teaming environment.   • Planner II
The Planner II is experienced in successfully planning multiple programs with proven capability to evaluate and establish systemic criteria for new product control as well as able to train and develop less experienced Planners. Principal Responsibilities: • Plans several product lines concurrently. • Proven ability to develop Master Production Schedules (MPS). • Experienced in the pre-planning activities necessary to analyze production capabilities in order to quote customer’s requests for bids. • Able to provide guidance to less experienced Planners to further develop their planning skills. • Successfully assisted or personally implemented the systemic criteria required to support new product introduction. • Possesses analytical skills necessary to review diverse planning data in order to establish the basis for reliable forecasts and the generation of Management Authorization Memorandums (MAM) or the equivalent. • Demonstrates exceptional abilities in the creation of spread sheets, in problem solving analysis, and in communication using both written and verbal forms. Education/ Experience Requirements: Planner II: • A Bachelor degree is preferred or equivalent experience. • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms. • Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with an emphasis upon spread sheet development. Progress experiences a plus. • Minimum of six (6) years experience required in planning and/or scheduling of a complex mix of products comprised of both manufactured and purchased items. • Minimum of six (6) years experience utilizing an MRP/ERP inventory system to administer indentured product structures within a manufacturing environment required. • Minimum of six (6) years experience in a chip-cutting, manufacturing environment required.
